Felt like there was less academic talk and the action was more contained so it was an easier read.Olgahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07486672655975751868noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3775842403040223661.post-8055552547545926302011-07-10T14:33:39.582-04:002011-07-10T14:33:39.582-04:00I couldn't see what all the fuss was about the...I couldn't see what all the fuss was about the religious elements either, but then I'm not religious myself.

I thought Angels and Demons was a better read. If you're interested in reading them just go to Books Of Years Past in the Fun menu on the left and you'll find them there.
I think the fact that the subject here is of religious nature and that history is interpreted convincingly enough got people very emotionally invested, one way or another. When I talked to my dad about this book he only asked whether the author claimed anywhere that it's not fiction. When he heard that the answer is no that was enough for him. Fiction is just that, fiction.Olgahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07486672655975751868noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3775842403040223661.post-23674888509909876302011-07-09T09:56:29.247-04:002011-07-09T09:56:29.247-04:00Love, Love, Love this review. Like you, I couldn't understand what all of the fuss was about. It was a fantastic book and the question that always stood out in my mind after all the hype was - What could be a greater legacy than to be a descendant of Jesus? So what was all the controversy about? I love history and this had loads of it. I have a wonderful hard bound copy of each of his books and find them fascinating. I also bought a thick hard bound book that explains the Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons. Wonderful review! Have you read his other books?
